MANLY DAILY 26 OCTOBER 2016 (Letter to Editor) Workshops Ignored I'M with Toni Francis – there was no talk at any of the Mona Vale Placemaking workshops of any construction in Mona Vale, as it was a “placemaking” plan (Your Say, Oct 20). The workshops looked at arts, events, beautifying and pedestrianising Mona Vale to make it a better, more attractive place to visit. Many people also said they wanted to keep a village feel by keeping Mona Vale small and keeping building heights to no more than three or four storeys. This draft Mona Vale Place Plan is ignoring all the good data collected in the many workshops. As a result, Mona Vale will become an ugly place that no one will want to visit, reside or work in. Housing won’t be affordable, but unliveable. Janet Forrester, Clareville MANLY DAILY 1 NOVEMBER 2016 (Letter to Editor) 'Crackpot idea’ is not one worth cheering SO Dick Persson and the Northern Beaches Council would like to turn the centre of Mona Vale into a late-night entertainment hub and convert it from a ghost town to a night-time metropolis. We already have one in Sydney and it’s called Kings Cross and while the retailers there are no doubt doing a great business, so is St Vincent’s Hospital. I can’t imagine anyone on the northern beaches would want to see the centre of Mona Vale become the violent, drug-riddled place that such a crackpot idea will create. Frank Adshead, Mona Vale
