THE PEOPLE HAVE THEIR SAY 01.10.16 Elmarie Filmalter Road upgrades an no rail 02.10.16 Steve Leslie Welcome to the new Gold Coast, It's time for Mike Braid to go!! 06.10.16 Dolores Maguire-Dowdall With Wedgwood estate opening off Mona Vale road and medium density housing being proposed, a full upgrade of Mona Vale Road to cater for the extra traffic plus a Northern Beaches Rail link would be necessary 07.10.16 Sandra McGeachie Please no rail link as it will spoil what we have here. Once a rail link goes in, the area is more accessible to a lot of undesirable people 07.10.16 Paula Tocquer Build a new surf club and fix the roads and traffic before adding 6 stories! 07.10.16 Matthew Stclair Re build Mona Vale Hospital and fix Mona Vale road. I haven't seen squat done in 26 years. 08.10.16 John Cooper Is this push for 6 story buildings only just coming around since the councils amalgamated? All this will do is line developers and councillors pockets and have a negative impact on the area 08.10.16 Love Clareville Went to many workshops for this - at everyone people and experts alike all said the carpark should be on the EDGE of the village, so drivers don't have to drive through the village. So where is the carpark - smack bang in the centre of the village. This should be where the village green is! Also six storeys will not a village atmosphere make - if you want to know what it would look like just look at Dee Why, or all the apartment which sprang up around St Ives - they are only five storeys high, MV's will be six 08.10.16 Steve MacAlpine And so Mr Persson thinks (as reported in the Manly Daily) that Mona Vale should be more like Manly....building heights increased etc. Isn't this the realisation of everyone's worst fears? Mona Vale road remains a nightmare...the other access roads like Powderworks and Garden Street have already been pushed being their capacity. The sewer treatment plant still overflows close to the shore...Has anyone done a summary of what was planned at Warriewood Valley and what actually happened? And we still have to deal with the Ingelside development! The council amalgamation is looking like a developers dream. Was the community approached for 'our say' Warriewood Valley or Council amalgamation ....sure ...did they take notice ...of course not! 08.10.16 Carole Harris Definitely no more than the 3 storey buildings we already have, until our roads can cope with the traffic we have to put up with now then no more buildings at all - but do you listen to what the residents want?? Definitely not, did we want the amalgamation of the councils? No we didn't but as usual you all do what you think is best for us and never listen to what the majority want, so why bother asking?? You tell me. 09.10.16 Save Mona Vale MONA VALE PLACE PLAN - JOIN THE PROTEST AGAINST 6 STOREY BUILDINGS WITH REDUCED PARKING AVAILABILITY Dick Persson said in yesterday's Manly Daily that recent letters to the Daily about the Mona Vale Place Plan have been factually inaccurate. How so Dick? At no session did participants hear of plans for 6 storey buildings in Mona Valre, especially buildings that will have less parking than the current formula. Send your comments to [email protected] 09.10.16 Andrew MacPhail He's just an overpaid Baird puppet; f___king dissapionting. We pay him & he screws us! Think we need an INDEPENDANT in Pittwater. The current liberals may as well be labour; need someone to work in the best interest of our area!! 09.10.16 Kirsten Gyles I don't want hi rise in Pittwater 09.10.16 Sal Posse No rail and only two maybe three storey buildings plz 09.10.16 Kirsten Gyles Too many roads says Dick. Umm because you idiots relying buses . Try configuring Mona vale without ability to turn bus!!! 10.10.16 Vicki Stephenson No high rise in mona vale. It will spoil the village feel 10.10.16 Love Clareville The Mona Vale placemaking plan aim was to make MV a BETTER place - this was doing/having small "wins" - such as artwork, better pedestrian signage, dancing in the street, etc. It has now been taken over politically by the Baird Gov through council amalgamations - six storeys, a carpark smack in the middle of MV. Where are the street art, the fun things which give us a reason - some pleasure in visiting Mona Vale? 10.10.16 Ryan Hird The next Dee Why!! Nobody wants that! 10.10.16 Eddie Presto What about releasing the Ingleside and New Northern Beaches Hospital control plans first!!!!!!!!!! 10.10.16 Katie Adams Would like you to concentrate on the Frenchs forest plan first. But the obvious first step would be to sort out wakehurst parkway, at least between Frenchs forest and Narrabeen. All these extra people will need to be able to get to the hospital seeing as how the one at mona vale will be downgraded. Seems to be a lot of development going on in the northern beaches with very little intelligent planning 11.10.16 Dave Murray It is pretty clear from the response on social media what the people want - No six stories in Mona Vale !! The schools are over-crowded, the roads are over-crowded, the soccer fields are worn out, Warriewood sewer treatment plant is at capacity. The people of Mona Vale do not want another Dee Why high rise disaster.Just stick with what we asked for at last years workshops. 11.10.16 Nina Johnson *enter more Chinese developers and Chinese buyers* good bye Aussie beach culture 13.10.16 Dave Murray Lets just imagine for a moment that our elected Councillors had not been sacked. How would the current debate about six storeys in MV have played out? I'm certain that the majority of our previous Councillors would wish to retain the current LEP and that building heights would not be raised from three to six.
