Petition of 180 People Handed to Local Member Rob Stokes 7 February 2017 (8 days prior to the Manly Daily story above) a Petition with 180 signatures objecting to the "Indented" bus stop in Village Park was handed into Rob Stokes office. However from the comments quoted in the article 8 days later Mr. Stokes, Local Member for Pittwater, who has his Electoral Office located in Mona Vale, it would appear has no interest in listening to the concerns of Mona Vale residents or the 180 people who signed the petition opposing the new B-Line bus stop in Village Park resulting in the loss of the grass mounds and 21 mature trees. Mona Vale's CHOP CHOP petition (Save Village Park from the B-Line) handed in to Robert Stokes MP with the expectation it will be tabled in Parliament and debated. The poorly thought-out B-line is already being undermined by Mackellar’s Jason Falinski who reckons having the State Transit Authority of NSW run it is ’like putting Dracula in control of the blood bank’. They say ‘if you pay peanuts you get monkeys’ but our Federal representative is paid at least $227,000 with allowances so it appears we have quite the reverse. QUOTES FROM THE VIDEO Mike Baird has jumped off his moving Baird Bulldozer, so it’s about time ROBSTOKES represented his own Electorate, listened to his own own ELECTORATE(Pittwater) and reconsidered this B-Line Bus Stop in Mona Vale Park (Village Park). There’s no need for it, it’s not logical and Rob Stokes HAS TO ACT. This proposed B-Line Bus Stop, northbound in Mona Vale is to be in Village Park demolishing the existing mound and all the trees that are with it. We loose the separation from the park from the road (Barrenjoey Rd), which gives a nice atmosphere for Village Park. It’s unnecessary, it’s a concentration at the bus stop into one spot for Mona Vale where at the moment we’ve got Waratah St and Park St as well. We’ve got the former Environment Minister here (Rob Stokes) and he should be thinking about this. At the moment they want everybody to drive to the bus stop, what a stupid idea. The whole thing is not logical and needs to be re thought. JASON FALINSKI has come out this morning with a statement as a stooge for the State Liberals calling that the B-Line be privatised. This is just ridiculous. Be assured that with privatisation will come cutbacks in services. They’ll be looking at how to save money. What does a private sector do but save money. A public sector operation is for the people and it’s convenient. This is a collection of Signatures from the CHOP CHOP protest every Saturday morning down at Village Park and we want STOKES to present this to Parliament so that they can debate what’s going on here. This is just the first stage of our petition, it’s ongoing and we’ll continue but because of Falinski’s statement today we are going to present it to Stokes as much as we’ve got so far. End of Quotes.
